Not cos I'm knowledgeable or what, but cos I'm just generally good at wasting my time on non productive things.

I try to squeeze out every last bit outta my TM Streamyx connection, and to my knowledge TM practices traffic shaping to save their precious bandwidth.
Well after using multiple torrent clients like Utorrent and BitComet, my download speeds were well below what my 1MB line should provide. In the vicinity of 20 to 50 kbps. On a good day. Sucky.
Well after much suffering and surfing i finally discovered Xunlei/Thunder 5
(dispute of who actually discovered it 1st, Eric C or Xeph my cousin or myself)
SHIT! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
Speeds of over 130kbps on average!
this screen cap (below) shows 165kbps but i have peaked at 180kbps a couple of times.
pretty amazing stuff, almost gave my otaku computer geek cousin an angina.
(A-N-G-I-N-A keep ur mind out of the gutter)
note: in Malaysia, we don't get 4-8MB lines like our neighbouring countries. so anything over 100kbps is considered pretty good.

Translation?? you ask, well basically to my knowledge how Xunlei works is cos it's a chinese torrent client so the headers and such are in chinese so are unreadable by those 'fine folks' over at TM. Yadda yadda tech talk no one gives a shit abt as long as it works.
And boy does it work, but sadly/happily i have only really achieved breakneck speeds on JAV downloads.
Yes porn! Does nothing except reaffirm the fact that the computer really is just a PORN MACHINE.
Everything else it does is just the Value Added Services package.

Looks like JAVtalk is down. Apparently their server people up and left cos of financial difficulties or a fire consumed their servers. Lotsa stories flying around.
So looks like an alternative is sorely needed.
