I need a solar powered car.

4th June 08, after all my rhetorics about choosing a new car, I realise that it is all futile. We can't let go of our dependence on fossil fuel. So I say the more hybrid the better.

We should not need to be controlled by rising oil prices. We ARE an oil producing country. RM 2.70/litre is an expensive sum to pay but it is still lower than world prices. We can expect it to hit RM 4 by August.

And something which everyone seems to be neglecting is that while petrol prices has risen by 78 sen, Diesel has increased by RM1.00 effectively raising per litre price to RM2.58, almost equivalent to  petrol!

I foresee our cost of living will shoot up nearly overnight. Go read other blogs if u want to see the finger pointing.
I only come in peace, so without touching on any politically charged issues, I suggest we build the flux capacitor, go back and change the past. haha. Only now, the price of petrol will deter anyone from hitting 88mph (142km/h).

I need a new car.

I'm not gonna be buying a new car anytime soon but daydreaming is entirely free.
Besides I need to start saving up so might as well look at my main options within the price range.
It boils down to 2 choices, one emotional, the other logical.

The hot blooded pre adult teen part of me will always lust after some race spec beast, but of course reality is just a wallet slap away. So instead of wasting time pining for a GT-R that costs RM728 grand from naza, I have to hunt lower down the food chain. So the new Civic Type-R FD2 comes to mind. No, 200k is way outta my league.(I'm poor here ok, poor people blog).

So we need to halve that figure, something below 100 thousand bucks.
Sticking with the performance part of the original plan, I have found my dream car!
A Suzuki Swift Sport!!! Priced around RM95k, expensive for a small little bitch like this, but i think it's worth every sen. Forged Pistons man! 125bhp! I'll have mine in manual, thank you very much. The 2 colours available in Malaysia (yellow and white), even match my car colour choosing criteria (yellow, white, red or black).
Hot hatch heaven!

But come down to earth with a thud I must, as this car has an atrociously small storage area (it has no real boot).
My new job entails me having to lug around lots and lots of swag and materials to far away places. Well far and wide in Johor and Melaka at least.
Still, point notwithstanding, small boot, non auto transmission, and a tough as nails ride probably won't be the most practical or comfortable in a long haul. But at least I'll reach where i'm going with a grin on my face! Not the best incentive, I know. And we haven't even started looking at the resale value.Gulp.

So choice no 2, which is the obvious, most logical, practical, and safe choice, the Toyota Vios.
Yes, I need the boot. Yes, I will appreciate the frugal fuel consumption. Yes, it is comfortable and roomy.
Yes it's an auto. Yes, it only costs eighty plus thousand. Yes, it has rock solid residuals. B-O-R-I-N-G.
DAMN IT it doesn't even come in yellow!

Well on the bright side it does look like a Yaris with a boot. So thoughts are divided in the masses, I do like a little controversy. And that is the only point I can think of in favour of the boring little sedan.

Well tonight I shall dream of parting the sea of boring silver Vios-es with a perky yellow twin tailpiped Swift Sport!

To be continued.
Got report to do.

My current fantasy. The car i mean.

Ah the Civic Type-R, Honda Malaysia has really outdid itself this time! While the rest of the world gets the turd-shaped 2door hatch back with the stiff torsion beam rear suspension, we in Malaysia can lay claim to be the only country outside of Japan to get the JDM model.(JDM= Japan Domestic Model for you non car nuts). I won't go into too much details cos I'm too damn lazy to type, so feel free to check out more pics and what Top Malaysian Car Blogger Paul Tan has to say.
It should be interesting to see some action with our southern neighbours at your local traffic light drag race series, as the official Type-R this gen for Singapore is the Euroturd version.

The price? A cool RM199,800.00. Which is a healthy premium over the 2.0s costing RM128,800.00.(both OTR with Insurance) But then again, how many Original factory imported High Performance Cars do we get in our 'protected market'? Mind you this is with full factory 3 year warranty included. Let's see you buy a recond car from Naza or Mutiara with that sticker attached.
But I digress, if i had that kinda money to burn i would definitely buy this baby! Four door practicality and a boot to boot! (pun intended). Yes, the sole 2 reasons why i want this car.

OMG! Crashed Nissan GT-R!

No sooner have i started raving about the brand new Nissan GT-R has some dick in Hong Kong gone and crashed his!
1st half cut anybody?
Read somewhere that a dude in Penang has already imported one for over RM 600k!!!
Guess he knows where to find some almost new spare parts now.

Wrecked Supercar

Looks like the airbags were deployed.
Guess Mr Dickhead didn't know he was on a public street.

NISSAN GT-R!

The new Godzilla is revealed! Oh how i wanna touch this beast in the metal. Preferably in the driver's seat. Then it would be leather not metal. You catch my drift.

Juz wanna tap that ass

Even standing still it looks 254 km/h faster than my car!
