A pretty interesting story behind it actually.
It all started on 7th July 2007, 07/07/07.
Mild Seven was having this Trinity Party at Avenue in JB. Mild Seven being one of my fave brands and all, so I got invited to the party. Apparently when u bring along 7 peeps in your group you get a free bottle of Chivas! Neat huh? Well after some mass calling i got more than 7 friends to show up. The seventh dude being Shahril who came in wearing the biggest grin on his face and a bottle in his hand! Nice.
Now u gonna think that was it, this is the bottle in the pic bearing my name, but no...
Before i elaborate, let me tell you it was a crazy drinking night cos everyone was entitled to 3 or 4 drinks coupons(can't recall). The best thing being the promoters were constantly stuffing MORE coupons into our hands!
So there were like 3 or 4 (again, can't recall specifics) buckets of Tiger Beer on the table and of course the free whisky. I drank, I made merry, and I got FUBAR but I did remember picking up the unfinished bottle and planning on drinking it on the drive home! haha kidding!
Anyway all said and done, there was a scratch and verify sticker on this gratis bottle and being a sucker for these verify shiznats, I SMS in the PIN number trying to see whether we got conned into drinking 5 ringgit liquor in a nice bottle that night. A couple of months later, I get an SMS inviting me to participate in some lucky draw thingy to win what u see here and I did (being the sucker that I am, but I win more things than u guys who don't enter competitions, ha).
And I won!
So that is the story of how my name is on a bottle of alcohol.
It was truly a win-win-win situation, free drinks for the night, free bottle of Chivas AND another bottle with my name on it!
P.S. I decree that this bottle of Chivas Regal shall not be opened, till the day that I no longer exist on this semigreen earth. Only friends of mine who will eventually out-live me, will get to taste the sweet nectar of aged further in a bottle Premium Scotch Whisky.
